Ory has almost 10 years’ experience in law, technology and regulatory work. She has worked as director of investments for Omidyar Network, as Policy Manager for Google Africa, as Co-­Founder /Executive Director for Ushahidi and as a legal consultant for the World Bank, Soros Institute, the KNHCR and various other organizations. Ory has a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Pittsburgh. Ory was previously a Chayes Fellow at the World Bank’s Department of Institutional Integrity.

In 2011 Ory was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and one of Africa’s most Powerful Women by Forbes. In 2014, Ory was named one of the world’s 100 most influential people by Time magazine.
